AHA ACLS Skills Check (Blended Learning)

Course Description: 

This is a Skills Check of the ACLS course described below. Course duration is approx. 60 mins. Must complete online portion first!

The American Heart Association’s ACLS Course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS for Healthcare Providers skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. Successful course completion includes demonstrating skills competency in all learning stations and passing the CPR and AED skills test, bag-mask ventilation skills test, a Megacode test and a written test. Upon successful completion, students receive an ACLS Provider card, valid for two years.

  • Part 1 - eLearning Course. All available eLearning courses are listed here:

  • Important: You must print the certificate of completion at the end of the online portion. You will need to give this to your instructor when you attend the skills check. It is necessary to show that you completed the online portion and passed the exam. Course Description:

The Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers Classroom Course is designed to provide a wide variety of healthcare professionals the ability to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR, use an AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.


Designed for:

Healthcare Providers (Nurses and Nursing Students; Physicians; Medical/Dental Assistants; Physical and Occupational Therapists)


Certification:
 

2 Years. AHA eCards are received within 24 hours of completing class. CPR Choice is an official Training Center for the American Heart Association.

AHA BLS Renewal for Healthcare Providers

Pre-Requisite:

Must be a current, non-expired BLS cardholder.

Course Description: 

The BLS Renewal class, offered through the American Heart Association, is designed to refresh BLS Providers on their current CPR knowledge and skills. The class is video-based and instructor-led and takes less time than the traditional class. The class covers 1 and 2-rescuer adult, child, and infant BLS and AED, choking, and team dynamics with opportunities for skills practice and remediation, questions, and exam review.

Designed for:

It is designed specifically for providers with a current BLS Provider course completion card and allows for time efficiency while teaching both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills in both in-facility and pre-hospital settings.

***Please note: You must provide proof of a current BLS Provider card to be admitted to class.***

AHA BLS Instructor 

Course Description: 

The American Heart Association BLS Instructor Course certifies the participant to teach the BLS for Healthcare Providers (BLS) Course, renewal course, and BLS Skill Sessions. Also, instructors may teach all the AHA Heartsaver programs including: adult CPR, child CPR, infant CPR, AED use, first aid, pediatric CPR/first aid, and bloodborne pathogens. BLS Instructor certification is valid for two (2) years.

The classroom portion covers American Heart Association procedures, course guidelines and agendas, instructor challenges, classroom set-up, learning theory, administrative support, and instructor-candidate teaching demonstrations.

AHA Heartsaver® Bloodborne Pathogens 

Course Description: 

The Heartsaver® CPR/AED course is designed for the lay responder. This class teaches the skills necessary to overcome reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies. Through "hands-on" training and video demonstrations, students will learn the standard protocols for administering proper CPR techniques and understand when and how to use an automated external defibrillator (AED).

Designed for:

  • Ideal for learners who prefer group interaction and feedback from an Instructor or Facilitator
  • Content is based on the PACT (Protect, Act, Clean, Tell) acronym to reinforce critical learning points
  • Certificate of completion for Heartsaver Bloodborne Pathogens shall be provided within 24 hours of course completion


Certification: 

1 Year. CPR Choice is an official Training Center for the American Heart Association.

Course Description:

The Heartsaver® CPR/AED course is designed for the lay responder. AHA Pediatric CPR/AED & First Aid

Course Description:

This course is for available by request. The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for childcare workers in all 50 United States. It teaches childcare providers and others to respond to and manage illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives. It covers the four steps of first aid and first aid skills such as finding the problem, stopping bleeding, bandaging and using an Epinephrine pen, as well as child CPR AED, infant CPR and optional modules in adult CPR AED, child mask, infant mask and Asthma Care Training for Child Care Providers.

AHA PALS Skills Check (Blended Learning)

Course Description:

This is a Skills Check of the PALS course described below. Course duration is approx. 60 mins. Must complete online portion first!

The goal of the PALS Course is to improve the quality of care provided to seriously ill or injured children, resulting in improved outcomes. The course checks the skills required and requires demonstrations of important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation and team dynamics.Upon successful completion, students receive a PALS Provider card, valid for two years.
